rope 101 - an introduction
photographer: TasteOfTaboo
This course opens a door to the world of tying: first knots, first structures, first moments in which rope becomes a connection. In this beginner’s workshop, we combine technique with what happens between the persons involved – physically, emotionally, socially – and give space for creative experimentation. Rope 101 provides you with first solid tools, an understanding of safety and dynamics as well as the spark that turns technique into play.
The steps:
- Single, Double Column Ties & The Basics
- Frictions, Tension & First Technical Structures
- Body Mechanics & Functions, One-Rope Dynamic Tying
- Intentions, Negotiations, Debriefings & Aftercare
duration: flexible – 1 to 3 half/full day(s) workshop or (bi-)weekly series (3 to 6 meetings á 3 to 5 hours)
